About Us:

Daytime Stars and Strikes is a charity event established by two-time Daytime Emmy winning actor Jerry verDorn (Clint/One Life to Live), a cancer survivor.  Jerry and former cast member Elizabeth Keifer (Blake/Guiding Light) host the annual event, with all proceeds directed to The American Cancer Society, in the hopes of one day finding a cure.  Our first event was held in October of 2004 with a handful of Guiding Light actors and about 100 fans.  In 2006 the event expanded to actors from the New York soaps--All My Children, As The World Turns, Guiding Light and One Life to Live, with over 60 actors and 300 fans in attendance.  Each fall these actors and fans from all over the globe come together for an afternoon of bowling, mingling and participating in the raffle/auctions of the day at New York City's Port Authority Leisure Time Bowl Facility in an effort to "strike" out cancer.  Everyone's generous contributions go to The American Cancer Society's research, advocacy, education, Look Good Feel Better, wig fittings, breast cancer/prostate cancer support groups as well as Road to Recovery and Reach to Recovery programs!  As of November 2009 we have raised close to $70,000.00.  This event is organized by a group of volunteers from all over the United States who donate their time in support of Jerry and The American Cancer Society.
